Correctional Care for Your Teeth and Jaw

With orthodontics, patients can enjoy a beautiful, healthier smile. At Parma Family Dentistry, we use several different types of treatments to help straighten your or your child’s smile. For a list of our orthodontic services in Parma, OH, call us or look through the pages below.

Our dentists, Dr. Anthony Huron and Dr. Judy Kiss-Benke, can help go over the link between a straight smile and healthier teeth and gums. Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry focused on correcting irregularities of the teeth and jaw, especially in how they align and fit together.

There are several orthodontic treatment options available, and our team will make certain that you receive the one that is right for your personal needs. Through orthodontics, we can correct teeth that are:

  • Misaligned
  • Crowded
  • Gapped and spaced

We can also correct problems with the alignment of the bite, including overbites, underbites, open bites, and crossbites. Orthodontic treatment is faster, more comfortable, and more effective than in years past, making it a great time to straighten your smile.

While many patients think of orthodontics as an effective way to improve the aesthetics of their smiles, orthodontic treatment can also be very beneficial to oral health and function. Correctly aligned teeth are generally at a lower risk for dental problems, such as tooth decay and gum disease. Orthodontics can also make it easier for you to chew, eat and speak properly.

To learn more about orthodontics and the treatment methods we provide at our office, we invite you to request an appointment with us or call today. Our dentists and team are dedicated to helping you achieve a straighter, healthier, and more beautiful smile!

hibu-tm

They are very professional, patient, and knowledgeable. Never seem rushed and allows adequate time to answer questions, etc. I've never been scared to go to the dentist until I recently had multiple bad/ traumatic experiences with a previous dentist I found in Lakewood after moving to Cleveland from Atlanta almost 2 years ago. They make me feel more at ease and I am slowly facing my fears. My mother sees them, too, and made the recommendation. Highly recommend.

Invisalign® Clear Aligners

Do you want a straighter, healthier smile, but do not want to have to deal with the bulk and inconvenience of traditional braces? The Invisalign® system might be just what you are looking for. Adjust misalignment, straighten teeth and improve the look of your smile with Invisalign clear aligners in Parma, OH.

This convenient orthodontic system works to correct the same problems with your smile that braces address, such as:

  • Gaps between teeth
  • Teeth crowding together
  • Crooked teeth
  • Bite problems (overbite, crossbite, etc.)

The Invisalign system uses a series of custom-made aligners that slowly but surely move your teeth into their proper arrangement. Once about every two weeks, you will come into our office and be fitted for a new aligner, which you will wear according to the instructions of our knowledgeable dentists.

The best part about using the Invisalign system is being able to remove them at any time! This means you can still eat foods you would not be able to with braces, as well as brush and floss normally. But thanks to the thin plastic they are made from, you might even forget they are there!

Our team can provide this treatment at Parma Family Dentistry for patients with minor to major orthodontic issues Request an appointment with Dr. Anthony Huron or Dr. Judy Kiss-Benke. We look forward to helping you achieve your dream smile!

Space Maintainers

If your child has lost a tooth, our dentists may recommend a space maintainer. This appliance helps prevent misalignment and keeps the space open for the adult tooth. Phone our office to schedule an exam at Parma Family Dentistry. This appointment will help our dentists, Dr. Anthony Huron and Dr. Judy Kiss-Benke, recommend a space maintainer in Parma, OH, for your child.

The baby teeth, or primary teeth, allow your child to chew and eat; however, that is not their only purpose. Primary teeth also act as guides to ensure that permanent teeth erupt in their proper places. If a baby tooth is lost too early, the permanent tooth no longer has a guide, which can result in it drifting or erupting in the wrong position.

The premature loss of baby teeth can also lead to the neighboring teeth shifting or tilting into the space that should have been preserved for the permanent tooth that will later erupt. Baby teeth may be lost early for several reasons, including:

  • Severe tooth decay and infection
  • Falls or other accidents
  • Diseases or other conditions
  • Teeth missing at birth

No matter the reason for a lost or missing tooth, our dentists will make certain that, if needed, the space is held to allow for the proper eruption of the permanent tooth. To do so, we may recommend a space maintainer to keep the space open until the permanent tooth erupts. There are several types of space maintainers available, including both removable and fixed options. We will make sure that your child receives the type of space maintainer that best fits their unique needs.

For more information on the available types of space maintainers and their benefits, we invite you to fill out our form or give us a call.
